PH Red Cross 'bakuna' bus continues its service in Sulu

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) administered 11,263 doses of Covid-19 vaccines in Sulu province through their "Bakuna" bus.

A total of 3,000 people were fully vaccinated and boosted in the province according to a statement released by PRC on Monday, June 20.

The Sulu Chapter "Bakuna" Team was deployed to help the vaccination efforts at the Jolo Municipal Rural Health Unit, the Jolo Municipal Bakuna Center, and Barangay Bus-Bus Health Station.

Sulu is currently under Covid-19 alert level 2.

Other places in Mindanao where PRC conducted vaccination drives were Tawi-Tawi, Cotabato City-Maguindanao, Misamis Oriental-Cagayan de Oro, Davao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Sultan Kudarat, Marawi City, and Zamboanga City.

The vaccination program is part of the PRC’s Covid-19 response across the country.

PRC said that they have already administered 1,199,452 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, including boosters, in the whole country, and have fully vaccinated 373,631 persons as of writing.

“Ang aming chapters sa Red Cross ay patuloy na nagbabakuna laban sa Covid-19 upang maging ligtas ang lahat sa banta nito (Our PRC chapters are continuously vaccinating against Covid-19 to make everyone safe from the virus' dangers)," said PRC chairman and chief executive officer Senator Richard Gordoon.

He also encouraged all Filipinos to get vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19. (Luisa Cabato)
