Youth solon lauds adoption of House climate justice resolution
On the last day of the 18th Congress’ third regular session Wednesday, June 1, the House of Representatives adopted House Resolution (HR) No. 2605 expressing the House’s sensibilities towards climate justice,
The adoption by the lower chamber was praised by Kabataan Party-list Rep. Sarah Jane Elago praised.

"This youth rep would just like to put on the record our utmost gratitude to various groups of climate action and climate justice advocates and eco-warriors who have tirelessly worked with and alongside us for the adoption of House Resolution 2605 and for the advancement of multiple legislative measures which aim to urgently address the planetary emergency," Elago said in a statement on Thursday, June 2.
HR No.2605 is formally titled “Resolution Expressing the Sense of the House of Representatives for Climate Justice, Strengthened Implementation of the Philippines Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Laws, and for the Developed Countries to Deliver on Their Commitments.”
It was sponsored by Elago, Bohol Rep. Edgar Chatto, and Antique Rep. and Senator-elect Loren Legarda.
"Through our persistent collective efforts, there have been major developments but we also know that more needs to be done, not just here but moreso for governments of big economies and corporations around the globe to limit global temperature to 1.5 C and to deliver accurate and just solutions to the climate crisis," the youth lawmaker concluded.
