Senator Juan Edgardo Angara said Sunday, June 19 that his Senate Finance Committee would support the vision and initiatives of Vice President-elect Sara Duterte for the Filipino people in the next six years.
Angara issued the statement after congratulating Duterte, who took her oath of office as the country’s Vice President in Davao City on Sunday afternoon.
He said the Senate acknowledges the majority mandate that Duterte-Carpio garnered in the May 9, 2022 national elections.
Angara noted that the country tried its best to contain the Covid-19 crisis despite financial difficulties.
He added that his committee would help Duterte in her upcoming role as Department of Education (DepEd) secretary.
With Duterte, Angara says the Philippines now has a vice president who is a ‘’young and dynamic leader".
He said "Inday Sara" talks straight and is direct to the point.
