With the goal of "Building Trust for the Uptake of Covid-19 Vaccinations," this project is set to increase the level of awareness and confidence in the benefits of Covid-19 vaccination in underserved communities like the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

This was said in a statement released by PRC on June 18, Saturday.

According to PRC, their experience in generating public trust and confidence will help improve vaccine acceptance in BARMM.

The five provinces in BARMM: Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi, have some of the lowest numbers of vaccinated people in the country as per the Department of Health’s data.

PRC chairman and chief executive officer Senator Richard Gordon also said that the “vulnerable and marginalized communities" will greatly benefit from this project and will push them into a more normal life condition.

"This in turn will cause a ripple effect whereby whole areas can be motivated to help each other grow more productive. Consequently, livelihood is renewed and recovery becomes sustainable. This particular project will advance one of the essential end goals of PRC – to help communities develop skills, become more productive and knowledgeable, and connect themselves to a meaningful future," Gordon added.
