She has done her father and family proud.

House Majority Leader and Leyte 1st district Rep. Martin Romualdez had this to say on the day of Vice President-elect Sara Duterte's oath-taking Sunday, June 19 in her native of Davao City.
“By her victory, she has done her father, President Duterte, her family and her constituents proud. It’s just apt that she wants to begin her term as Vice President in her home city,” said Romualdez, president of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party.
“More importantly, the victory of Mayor Sara and President-elect Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. is the triumph of the more than 31 million Filipinos who shared their message of unity for the country and their aspiration of a better life for our people,” Romualdez said.
Vice President-elect Duterte is the Lakas-CMD chairperson. She is the eldest--and, according to some, the favorite--daughter of outgoing President Duterte.
Romualdez acted as one of her two campaign managers during the just-concluded election season. He can also be described as her mentor of sorts.
Marcos and his running mate Duterte comprised the UniTeam tandem during the polls.
Being the first candidates for president and vice president, respectively to win by a majority, instead of a plurality, vote in the nation’s recent history, Romualdez said the incoming leaders would be “on solid ground to achieve their vision"
“I have seen up close the synergy between them, their limitless energy, dynamism, dedication to their job, and their compassion, and I have no doubt that they will succeed,” he stressed.
Romualdez, Marcos's cousin, is the believed to be a shoo-in for the position of House Speaker in the upcoming 19th Congress.
