Discovery diversifies into upscale township development

Listed upscale hotel and resort firm Discovery World Corporation is venturing into the development of townships starting with a P7 billion project in Davao City through wholly-owned subsidiary One Davao Townships Corporation.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Discovery said One Davao is strategically pursuing township projects starting with an 11-hectare modern community development in Davao City.

“The planned township will be the first luxury real estate project of its kind as One Davao pushes the region's potential by integrating residential lots and mixed-use spaces,” the firm said.

It added that, “the project will feature two distinct areas promoting a propitious quality of living.” The West Village boasts of generous land cuts in a spacious yet private area. About 42 percent of the village will be dedicated to open spaces and amenities for upscale living.

Nature-friendly features with a lush, green environment will reward residents with the benefits of outdoor living.

While the West Village provides a suburban aura, the East Village, with its mixed- use and commercial spaces, promises a leisure hub with all desirable necessities within arms' reach.

“Pioneering unparalleled privacy, exclusivity and security, ONE DAVAO sets a high bar in modern comfort and luxury. The development is expected to generate up to P7 billion in real estate sales in various phases,” Discovery said.

The firm said it is “coming in strong in Mindanao and will explore more townships and regional developments in the years ahead.”
