Cooperative Development Authority chair receives awards from Malacañang

The Chairperson of the Cooperative Development Authority, Joseph B. Encabo, received awards from the Office of the President (OP) and the Presidential Security Group (PSG).

In an awarding ceremony held at Malacañang palace on Thursday, June 16, Encabo received the distinct badge of the Order of Lapu-Lapu, with the rank of Magalong from President Duterte himself.

The badge is being given to officials and personnel who have rendered extraordinary service to the success of the advocacy of the president.

Encabo also received the Military Merit Medal for "meritorious and invaluable service rendered in a position of major responsibility" as head of OP – Events Management Cluster (EMC) from the PSG, under the auspices of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

According to a news article posted on CDA's website Sunday, June 19, Encabo, being the head of OP-EMC, orchestrated the distribution of assistance to wounded-in-action and killed-in-action AFP and Philippine National Police personnel, lead convenor of the "Hatid Tulong Initiative" during the height of Covid-19 pandemic, and a co-lead organizer of the first Presidential Silent Drill in the country in partnership with PSG.

Moreover, he was also the lead convenor and head of the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program, a member of the Technical Working Group (TWG) of the "Malasakit Framework" Health Program, lead convener and secretariat on the crafting of the guidelines on the assistance of the OP to Liver Transplant Program, secretariat to the first Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program, and member of the Secretariat on the Constitutional Commission on Federalism.
