Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Brig. General Remus Medina has formed a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) that will probe the shooting incident that resulted in the killing of two young boys in Novaliches, Quezon City on June 10.
The QCPD chief said Friday, June 17, the SITG will be led by Deputy District Director for Operations Col. Redrico A. Maranan.
The two boys named as the “Zamora siblings”, aged seven and four, were shot dead by two unidentified gunmen in their house in Novaliches at around 10:50 a.m. last June 10.
Police said the suspects entered the victims’ house and originally targeted their father who was also wounded.
Authorities are still establishing the identities, motive and location of the suspects.
“Ang lahat ng posibleng anggulo sa imbestigasyon ay isaalang-alang ng SITG Zamora Siblings upang matukoy ang motibo sa pamamaril na ikinasawi ng dalawang musmos na magkapatid (All possible angles in the investigation will be considered by the SITG Zamora Siblings to determine the motive behind the shooting that killed the two siblings),” Medina said.
“Hindi kami titigil sa pagtugis sa salarin at sisiguraduhin naming mabibigyan ng hustisya ang mga biktima (We will not stop pursuing the suspect and we will ensure that justice will be given to the victims),” he added.
