P503,000 shabu seized in Taguig, Muntinlupa anti-drug ops


Police confiscated P503,200 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in anti-illegal drug operations in Taguig and Muntinlupa City on June 17 and 18.

The Muntinlupa Police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted an anti-illegal drug operation on Avanceña Street in Katarungan Village, Barangay Poblacion Friday night, resulting in the arrest of suspect Al Rashid Timbayan.

Police seized during the operation four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 55 grams with a value of P374,000 and P1,000 buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, Taguig Police DEU personnel also launched a buy-bust operation on June 17 on Roldan Street, Barangay Lower Bicutan, Taguig and arrested Johm Louwel Albacite, 23, a CCTV (closed-circuit television) installer.

Seized from him were three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 19 grams valued at P129,200 and P200 buy-bust money.

The police will file charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) against the suspects.

The suspected drugs were turned over to the Southern Police District (SPD) Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

"I commend our operatives for their unrelenting operation to control illegal drugs that causes multiple problems in families, communities and drug related crimes. I also urged the public to support us in our campaign in combating illegal drug menace," said SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg.
