There will be power interruptions in some areas of Ermita, Malate, and Paco in Manila on Sunday, June 19, as advised by the Manila Electric Company (Meralco).
Meralco will be replacing electric poles, and reconstructing power lines as part of their repair and maintenance operations.
Additional lighting protection devices will also be installed at the streets of Correa, M. Ghandi, D. Romualdez, and Leon Guinto in Paco, Manila.
Power interruptions will occur within seven hours, between 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the following areas:
- Gen. Luna Street (from G. Apacible Street to Josefa Llanes Escoda Street). This will include the Regent Building and the Plaridel Masonic Temple in Ermita.
- D. Romualdez Street and Belen Street (from Apacible Street to M. Ghandi Street in Paco).
Power disruptions will be experienced by residents in short intervals, from 9 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 3:10 p.m., in the following areas:
- Padre Faura Street (from Maria Y. Orosa Street in Malate to Paco Park in Paco) The outage will also affect the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Cancer Institute located in Ermita.
- F. Agoncillo Street from Padre Faura Street to the Asian Social Institute in Ermita. The areas wherein the Cosmopolitan Church along Taft Avenue in Manila will also be affected.
Meralco urged citizens residing or working in these areas to prepare for these eventualities, and adjust their activities in accordance with the interference during the maintenance operations.
