Malabon LGU warns public vs ‘ayuda’ survey forms

The Malabon City Community and Urban Poor Affairs Office (CUPAO) has denied distributing survey forms that promise “ayuda” or help and other benefits to the city’s residents.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, June 15, Mayor-elect Jeannie Sandoval warned and encouraged the public to be careful in sharing their information after learning about the distribution of the purported CUPAO survey forms.

“Para sa kaalaman ng lahat, walang pinapasagutan ang CUPAO na form na nangangako ng ayuda, pabahay, at anumang uri ng benepisyo na maaring tanggapin sa mga susunod na araw (For everyone's knowledge, there is no CUPAO form that promises assistance, housing, and any kind of benefits that can be received in the coming days)," the CUPAO said in a statement on the same day.

It clarified that it is currently conducting a survey through the barangay relations officers, which is intended for regular profiling to support the city’s Covid-19 vaccination drive. It aims to identify those who need to get their initial doses or booster shots, and not for the distribution of any assistance.

“Isa po sa mandato ng CUPAO ang mangalap ng impormasyon na makakatulong sa ating lungsod, lalu na sa panahon ng pandemya. Minabuti ng pamahalaang lungsod na pangunahan ng CUPAO ang naturang survey upang mas epektibong maipatupad ang programa sa pagbabakuna at pagharap sa pandemyang dulot ng Covid-19 (One of CUPAO’s mandates is to gather information that will help our city, especially during the pandemic. The city government decided to let CUPAO lead the survey in order to effectively implement the vaccination program and deal with the pandemic caused by Covid-19),” it said.

The CUPAO called on "Malabonians" to report similar incidents to its office.
