Police seize P340,000 shabu in Muntinlupa

A buy-bust operation by the police resulted in the confiscation of P340,000 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and arrest of a suspect in Muntinlupa on June 16.

The Muntinlupa police’s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the operation at about 7:50 p.m. at Soldiers’ Hills in Barangay Putatan.

Arrested in the buy-bust operation was suspect Vincine Rictin, 23. Operatives seized seven plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 50 grams with a value of P340,000, and P1,000 buy-bust money.

The police are preparing to file a complaint against the suspect for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

The suspected illegal drugs were turned over to the Southern Police District (SPD) Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg lauded the Muntinlupa police for the operation.

"It only shows our commitment to our duty to eliminate drug menace in our area,” he said.
