Bloody revenge: Father, stepson arrested in Bacoor for beating man over grudge

BACOOR CITY, Cavite –A father and his stepson were arrested after beating a man over an old grudge in Barangay Talaba on Thursday, June 16.

Bacoor City Police Station identified the suspects as Alvin Villanueva, 40, and his stepson, Romar Esguerra, 23.

On the day of the incident, Villanueva and Esguerra confronted the victim, Melvin Mateo, who was on his way to the wet market.

The suspects punched Mateo and struck him with an iron pipe.

The victim sustained injuries on his face, head, and right arm, and was immediately brought to the hospital for medical treatment.

According to investigator-on-case Corporal Edilberto M. Reyes Jr., the suspects said Mateo had a row with Esguerra on June 13.

Mateo, on the other hand, claimed that it was a case of mistaken identity.

The suspects are under police custody and facing frustrated murder charges.
