The fashion magazine’s feature also reveals information about the music superstar’s upcoming album ‘Renaissance’
Sickening is an understatement. Grammy award-winning singer Beyoncé is serving jaw-dropping looks as she becomes British Vogue’s July 2022 issue’s cover star.
Photographed by Rafael Pavarotti, the fashion editorial marks the coming of a new era for the Grammy award-winning singer. With the theme “fashion fantasia,” the shoot captures her iconic images throughout her career with the help of couture pieces from Schiaparelli, Junya Watanabe, Harris Reed, and Maison Alaia, among others.
“Mirror balls, light boxes, headdresses? Of course. A horse on the dance floor? Certainly. A motorcycle for her to adorn in Junya Watanabe leathers and Harris Reed & Roker boots? Why not,” British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, OBE, wrote. “B wanted to play with fashion like never before, and as we swapped references (from the 1990s garage scene to ’80s excess), talked hair and beauty, and got to know her team, a vision of glittering retro-futurism began to take shape.”
The feature also dished Beyoncé’s upcoming album “Renaissance.” The magazine editor got the chance to listen to the pop star’s forthcoming creation and described it as “music that touches your soul.”
“Soaring vocals and fierce beats combine and in a split second I’m transported back to the clubs of my youth. I want to get up and start throwing moves. It’s music I love to my core... As ever with Beyoncé, it is all about the intent. I sit back, after the wave, absorbing it all,” Edward wrote.
Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” album is set to be released on July 29. If you want to know more about what she’s been up to, read British Vogue’s full feature here.
