De La Salle made a successful return trip to the Finals with a 25-19, 25-20, 25-23 sweep of rival Ateneo in the UAAP Season 84 women's volleyball stepladder at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City Thursday, June 16.

The Lady Spikers set up a championship showdown in Game 1 against the top-ranked and unbeaten National University Lady Bulldogs on Saturday, June 18.
Alleiah Malaluan, Jolina Dela Cruz, and Thea Gagate joined forces on the frontlines and reached the double-digit marks thanks to Mars Alba's superb tossing and ball distribution.
Ateneo couldn't solve the puzzle that was Gagate as Alba utilized her quick attacks especially down the stretch.
Malaluan topscored for De La Salle with 16 points off 15 attacks while Gagate and Dela Cruz scored 13 points apiece. Fifi Sharma and Leila Cruz also had eight and six markers, respectively.
The Lady Spikers, leading by as many as seven points midway through the third set, averted a meltdown despite Faith Nisperos and Erika Raagas conniving on the Blue Eagles' behalf.
Nisperos alone scored four straight points to cut the deficit by four before Raagas soared for an off-the-block hit to make it a three-point affair, 22-19.
After a Gagate quick attack in the ensuing play, Jeycel Ann Delos Reyes delivered when it mattered the most and scored the lone point of the match off a crucial service ace to trail by one point only, 23-22.
Gagate once again unloaded a quick hit for the Lady Spikers to reach match point, 24-23, but Raagas answered with a kill of her own to fight for dear life.
Malaluan, however, made sure that there won't be any extension and hammered down a solid spike for the win as De La Salle barged into the Finals since winning the title back in Season 80 with a 2-0 sweep against the Far Eastern University.
Nisperos, despite being checked by the Lady Spikers' sharp defense, fired 19 points off 17 spikes and one block for the Eagles while Raagas chipped in nine points.
