JRU guns for share of lead in NCAA volley

Jose Rizal University guns for a share of the lead when it tackles Emilio Aguinaldo College in NCAA women’s volleyball on Friday at Paco Arena.

Game is at 12 noon with the Lady Bombers seeking their second win to tie with College of St. Benilde Lady Blazers and Arellano Lady Chiefs at the helm.

JRU also hopes to follow up its 13-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-17 victory over Letran last Tuesday.

Renessa Melgar and Sydney Niegos are expected to lead the Lady Bombers after combining for 21 points the last time, while help will come from Riza Rose and Dolly Versoza.

EAC, for its part, hopes to crawl back from a 25-11, 25-13, 25-16 loss from San Sebastian last Sunday to nail its first win.

Also out to bounce back from their opening-game losses are Letran and University of Perpetual Help in their 2:30 p.m. encounter.

The Lady Knights are reeling from their four-set defeat over the Lady Bombers while the Lady Altas are coming off a 25-23, 25-19, 25-16 loss over the Lyceum Lady Pirates last Sunday.

Letran pins its hopes on Chamberlaine Cunada and skipper Shereena Urmeneta to banner the crew.

Perpetual, for its part, needs to double its team efforts after none from the squad scored in double figures against Lyceum while managing only 15 kills in the three-set affair.
