
The suspect identified as Christopher Sad-ang Ampal, 40, is now facing charges for violating Republic Act (RA) No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Joint operatives of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and Regional Intelligence Unit 14 (RIU-14) implemented the search warrant issued by Judge Maria Ligaya Itliong-Rivera of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 5 here in Ampal’s residence.
During the search, one plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.52 grams with a standard drug price of P3,536 and one knot-tied transparent cellophane containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 98.01 grams with an estimated value of P666,468 were discovered.
Markings and inventory of the confiscated pieces of evidence were conducted on-site in the presence of the suspect and duly witnessed by Associate City Prosecutor Bernard Allan Angeles, Department of Justice (DOJ) representative; and Punong Barangay Joel Bangloy of East Quirino Hill.
