Teacher raped, killed; fiancé slain in Calbayog

TACLOBAN CITY – A 23-year-old teacher was allegedly raped and killed and her fiancé was found dead in Calbayog City Tuesday, June 14.

Roan Jeallen Lamparas was found on the grassy portion of the diversion road in Barangay Bagacay around 8 p.m. She is believed to have been raped before she was killed since she was found naked.

Her fiancé, Jade Andre Bestudio, 23, was found lifeless beside a drainage in Barangay San Policarpo at around 10:30 a.m.

Bestudio is a second-year mechanical engineering student at the Northwest Samar State University in Calbayog.

Initial investigation disclosed that Lamparas was last seen when she was fetched by her fiancé from a drugstore in Barangay Capoocan using his single motorcycle at about 8 p.m. Monday, June 13.

Calbayog mayor-elect Raymund Uy and councilor-elect Jessie Gianan have offered a reward to those who could give information on the identity of the suspects.
