Police probe property row angle in murder of Chinese businessman in Bacolod

The victim was identified as Jeffrey Keng Seng of Barangay 1 here.
According to Police Lt. Jonito Pastrana, deputy commander of the Police Station 2 here, the victim was shot by two unidentified men onboard separate motorcycles at the intersection of Lacson St. and B.S. Aquino Drive.
Pastrana said the victim was wounded but managed to drive his Nissan Patrol to ask for police assistance as the incident happened a few meters away from the police station.
But due to the severity of wounds, he fell unconscious, causing the car to hit a vacant lot in Barangay 3, where he was found lifeless.
Policemen believed that the victim might have been tailed by the perpetrators whom they considered as professional hitmen.
Recovered from the crime scene were five fired bullets from an alleged .45 caliber pistol.
Despite the initial motive that police are investigating, they are not ruling out the possibility that it could be a case of “mistaken identity.”
It was the fifth shooting incident reported here this month, four of which were fatal.
