PAL doubles free baggage allowance

Philippine Airlines (PAL) will give up to 20 kilograms Free Baggage Allowance (FBA) on domestic flights operated with the De Havilland Dash-8 turboprop aircraft to boost travel demand.

This is double the previous maximum FBA of 10kg for turboprop flights. The higher FBA starts on Wednesday, June 15.

The increased baggage allowance allows more flexibility and convenience for domestic travelers, and applies a uniform standard for nearly all PAL domestic flights and routes.

“We hope that the added convenience of a higher free baggage allowance will encourage people to travel on our extensive network of flights to island destinations and economically resurgent provincial cities and communities all over the Philippines,” explained Bud Britanico, PAL Vice President for Sales.

Passengers with old and new tickets issued for travel on or after June 15 will be allowed to check-in up to 20kg on applicable booking classes for all routes, with the exception of Basco (Batanes).

The current FBA of 10kg will be retained for flights to and from Basco because of unique operational conditions that limit the baggage capacity on these flights.

The flag carrier operates the new and efficient Dash-8 aircraft, offering faster flights with jet-like comfort, on various domestic routes from its hubs in Manila, Cebu, Davao and General Santos, including flights to Basco, Butuan, Cotabato, Catarman, Calbayog, Dumaguete, Antique, Siargao, Legazpi, Caticlan (Boracay), Busuanga (Coron), Iloilo, Tagbilaran (Panglao), Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Clark, Davao, Puerto Princesa, Tacloban and Zamboanga.
