Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi and Rep. Ruffy Biazon led the inauguration of a newly constructed and state-of-the-art Colegio de Muntinlupa building on June 14.
Fresnedi graced the unveiling of the marker of Colegio de Muntinlupa’s Building 2, a six-story edifice with 16 classrooms and seven laboratories for civil and mechanical engineering students.

It will house a Civil Engineering Laboratory, Mechanical Engineering Pilot Plant, Equipment Design Prototyping Fabrication Facility, Electronics Engineering Laboratory, Electrical Engineering Laboratory, Computer Engineering Laboratory, and an Architecture Studio.
The building is an addition to CDM’s main facility, a four-story “green building” with nine classrooms, two computer laboratories, Engineering Drawing Room, Physics Laboratory, Chemistry Laboratory and Library.
Also attending the inauguration ceremony were CDM College President Dr. Teresita Fortuna, Schools Division Superintendent Carleen Sedilla, Vice Mayor Artemio Simundac, Coun. Allan Camilon, Coun. Ivee Arciaga Tadefa, Councilor-elect Jedi Presnedi, Coun. Ryan Bagatsing, Coun. Marissa Rongavilla and Barangay Sucat Capt. Raffy Sevilla, City Architect Beaudon Causapin, and City Engineer Dynadelle Aranda.
Biazon, the incoming mayor, thanked Fresnedi for the construction of the new facility and lauded his vision to improve the lives of young Muntinlupeños through education.
“We are thankful to Mayor—and now Congressman-elect Jimmy Fresnedi for putting in the foundation for the good future of our next generation,” he said.
Recently, CDM celebrated its feat in the recent Registered Master Electrician (RME) licensure examination as one of its students placed sixth in the overall ranking, and for clinching a 100 percent passing rate.
Fortuna said the results in the recent RME exam will serve as an inspiration for the institution to continually provide outstanding training and support to the students to help them become industry-ready.
