"Already in Hungary, more than 800 Filipinos are working and we are happy to increase the number in the future," Ambassador of Hungary, Dr. Titanilla Toth told local reporters Wednesday, June 15 during a press briefing at the BBM headquarters in Mandaluyong City.

Minutes earlier, Toth carried out a courtesy call to President-elect Bongbong Marcos at the same venue.

Ask to elaborate on the prospect of employment in Hungary for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), the lady envoy said: "We have specific areas in which the collaboration can be closer, mostly in hospitality sector like hotels; also in the factories like many electronic factories, looking forward to many skilled workers in the Philippines."

"And that's why we also made the cooperation closer with the TESDA here, so TESDA can be our biggest partner to make trainings before the OFWs could enter Hungary," she said.

Toth, however, did not give additional details about the Hungarian government's arrangement with TESDA.

"We had a really fruitful discussion with the Mr. President-elect. I'm looking forward of our cooperation; it's very promising already but we can improve the level in the field of water technology, agriculture, and also we are looking forward to cooperate on education," she said.

"We're already providing 35 scholarships to Filipino students, maybe in he future we can increase that," she added.
