The government's pandemic task force has decided to keep the entire National capital Region (NCR) under Alert Level 1, the least strict among all risk level classifications, until the end of the month despite a reported spike in Covid-19 cases in Metro Manila, Malacañang said.
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar made this announcement a few hours before the existing alert level classifications expired on June 15.
The announcement likewise came after analytics groups Octa Research reported that the number of Covid-19 cases in NCR grew by 53 percent last week.
Alert Level 1
Based on the latest decision of the Inter-agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, 84 of 121 provinces, highly urbanized cities (HUcs), and independent component cities (ICCs) are under Alert Level 1 from June 16 to 30, 2022.
A total of 161 of 758 other component cities and municipalities are also under the same alert level.
The following provinces, HUCs, and ICCs, shall be placed under Alert Level 1 from June 16 to 30, 2022:
- NCR: Caloocan City, City of Malabon, City of Navotas, City of Valenzuela, Pateros, City of Pasig, City of Marikina, Taguig City, Quezon City, City of Manila, City of Makati, City of Mandaluyong, City of San Juan, City of Muntinlupa, City of Parañaque, City of Las Piñas, and Pasay City
- Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR): Abra, Apayao, Baguio City, Kalinga, and Mountain Province
- Region I: Dagupan City, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan
- Region II: Batanes, Cagayan, City of Santiago, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino
- Region III: Angeles City, Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Olongapo City, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales
