Isabela City Fire Marshal F/Sr. Insp. Edgar Quitoy said the fire started at the house of a certain Neyla Abdulkadil and spread to adjoining houses made of light materials.

Firemen reportedly had difficulty reaching the affected area because of narrow passageways and alleys.

Firemen were able to put the fire under control at around 1:15 p.m.

Damage to properties was estimated at P600.000.

Isabela mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman ordered the City Social Welfare and Development office to immediately conduct an inventory of affected houses for assistance.

Isabela City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office readily distributed relief packs to 55 families affected by the fire.
