The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Tuesday, June 14, inaugurated the P1.23 billion upgraded Integrated Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) of the Port of Batangas , Batangas City.
The 15,000 square meter (sqm) PTB features fully air-conditioned lounges and Persons With Disability (PWD)-friendly facilities for more convenient and comfortable sea travel.
These completed Phase 1 and 2A of the facility can accommodate up to 4,000 passengers at any given time.
Once the construction of Phase 2B is completed, the Batangas Port will be the biggest terminal port in the country with a capacity of 6,000 passengers at any given time.

The upgraded port will also boost livelihood opportunities for Batangueños and usher economic and tourism growth in CALABARZON, according to the DOTr.
Secretary Art Tugade, together with Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) General Manager Jay Santiago and Asian Terminals, Inc. President Eusebio Tanco led the PTB inauguration.
The PPA is inaugurating some 14 port projects nationwide this month and targets to complete about half a hundred more port rehabilitation, expansion and development projects until 2024.
