As part of its goal to reassess, realign, and refocus youth-related initiatives, the Department of Education (DepEd), on Tuesday, June 14, announced that they will be launching a three-day youth summit called the Philippine Youth Convergence (PYC).

PYC will be launched beginning Wednesday, June 15 until Friday, June 17 in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
“We developed the PYC to provide an avenue to our youth for dialogue and revitalize their participation in achieving quality and inclusive education by spearheading conversations about pressing and relevant issues,” said DepEd Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones in a press statement.
The summit will be attended by over 2,000 Senior High School (SHS) students, youth leaders, and education stakeholders across the country.
Apart from reassessing youth-related initiatives, DepEd said that they are also aiming to identify solutions to address the needs of Filipino youth and at the same time craft the Youth Education Agenda through the three-day summit.
