UP Mindanao to offer Masters in Human Movement Science starting AY 2022-2023

The University of the Philippines Mindanao (UPMin) will offer a Master of Science in Human Movement Science (MSHMS) program beginning the academic year 2022-2023 in September.

MSHMS's goal is "to equip its graduate with critical inquiry and research skills" and "contribute to nation-building through the promotion of human movement/physical activity-related pursuits," said Zenia Sanchez at a Zoom meeting titled "Forum on the Off-Campus Offering of UP Diliman's Master of Science in Human Movement Science in UP Mindanao" held on June 9 courtesy of UPMin's Department of Human Kinetics.

The MSHMS will be open to graduates of BS Education major in Physical Education, Bachelor of Physical Education, and Diploma in Exercise and Sports Sciences (DESS).

Being an off-campus extension program of UP Diliman (UPD), the pioneer graduates of UPMin's MSHMS will receive a UPD diploma.

UPMin is also working towards a proposed College of Human Kinetics on its campus.

It currently offers Associate in Arts in Sports Studies and DESS, final preparations are also underway for Bachelor of Sports Science and the MSHMS. (Luisa Cabato)
