PH's average Covid-19 daily rate 30.4% higher than past week—DOH

Compared to the recorded number of Covid-19 cases from May 30 to June 5, the average daily rate from June 6 to 12 is 30.4 percent higher.

This was according to the weekly Covid-19 data of the country released by the Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, June 13, noting that the average daily rate in the recent week is 240.

The health department said 1,682 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded from June 6 to 12.

Of the new cases, the DOH said eight individuals have severe and critical cases.

The week before it—May 30 to June 5—had logged 1,295 cases, having an average daily rate of 185.

As of June 12, the DOH said 498 patients with severe and critical cases of Covid-19 have been admitted to hospitals.

Of the 2,078 intensive care unit (ICU) beds for patients with Covid-19, only 345 or 16.6 percent are occupied.

Meanwhile, 20.3 percent of the 15,706 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are currently occupied.

DOH spokesperson Usec. Maria Rosario S. Vergeire said there is a possibility that the alert level of the National Capital Region (NCR) may be raised to Alert Level 2 should Covid-19 cases continue to go up.

Per the DOH, it has monitored a positive two-week growth rate from 14 out of 17 cities and municipality in the NCR last week.

Currently, the NCR is under the Alert Level 1.
