BACOLOD CITY -- A tricycle driver was gunned down in the downtown area at the corner of San Juan and Luzuriaga Streets in Barangay 13 here last Saturday, June 11.

Police identified the victim as Jestoni Sabare, 30, of Barangay 13, this city.
Police Major Ramel Sarona, head of Police Station 1 here, said the victim was buying softdrinks in a store when an unidentified lone gunman on a motorcycle shot him from behind at close range.
Sarona said the victim may have been tailed by the perpetrator who was wearing a black helmet and a jacket.
Sabare succumbed to a lone bullet wound in the head, according to Sarona.
Police recovered from the crime scene an empty fired cartridge and a fired bullet from an alleged .45 caliber firearm.
Sarona said they will check the background of the victim to determine if he had priors.
This is the fourth shooting incident reported here in the past two weeks, in which three were fatal.
