Nueva Vizcaya municipal councilor dies after car plunges into river


NUEVA VIZCAYA -- A municipal councilor died as the SUV car he was driving plunged into a river in Brgy. Bua, Kasibu in an accident that happened in the first hour of Friday, June 10.

A report from Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Police Office identified the victim as Alfredo Tucpi II, 49, a resident of barangay Poblacion in Kasibu town where he was a municipal councilor.

Major Nova Lyn Aggasid, information officer of NVPO, said that based on the report of local police here, the victim, who was on his way home, reportedly miscalculated the curved portion of the road, as a result of which his car fell into the river.

An unidentified phone caller reported the incident to the Kasibu Police at around 12:30 a.m.

The police immediately sent a rescue team to the area.

The victim was rushed to Kasibu Municipal hospital but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Jerameel D. Bahni, the attending physician.
