East Avenue Medical Center, Department of Emergency Medicine presents its two-day event, the 12th Annual (2nd Virtual) Postgraduate Course, this June 15-16, 2022 starting at 08:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a free registration. "Shifting Gears: Emerging From The Lockdown" talks about the new beginning of the end.

The past two years has been difficult as we struggle to deal with the covid 19 pandemic, but we survived so this year theme focuses on the lesson and challenges. For two days, DEM-EAMC will be on a free virtual platform to educate the public about health information towards endemic our distinguished specialist in different fields were invited and will share their expertise.

Dr. Bernadette Velasco, the operation manager of the National Patient Navigation and Referral Center, will impart her expertise on "pre-hospital care emergency medical services gearing towards endemic."

Dr. Homer Co, an EM graduate of PGH and one of the creators of RADISH—Computerized Registry of Admissions and Discharges, will talk about this web-based system for managing the admissions and discharges and the consult widely now used in PGH Medical Record Division, Nursing, Medical Social Services, Hospital Infection Control monitoring, Pharmacy Adverse Drug Event, Lobby information, and expanding to the clinical departments.

Dr. Ferdinand Guzman, the National Board Director of Philippine Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP) and the founding president of Philippine Society of Primary Care Physicians in Tropical Medicine (PAFP-TM), will address his knowledge in teleconsultation on this new normal.

Dr. Joan Perez-Rifael, specialized on General and Adult Psychiatry with a sub-specialization on Liaison Psychiatry, commentates her expertise on Verbal De-escalation for the Emergency Care Provider.

Dr. Angeline Santos, a Pediatric Infectious Specialist and a member of the Regional Adverse Event Following Immunization Committee at Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development, as she discusses the AEFI in the pediatric population.

Atty. Ana Reblora, as one of the Policy Advisor for Health and Hospitals Sector at the National Privacy Commission conveying the ‘nurses point of view on medical documentation’.

Dr. John David Comandante, an EM specialized in Clinical and Occupational Toxicology; Dr. Dave Dato, the OIC of DRRM-H in Rizal Medical Center; Dr. Alexander Hidalgo, an EM specialist in Hamad Medical Corporation - Emergency Ambulance Services and lastly

Dr. Natasha Reyes, an EM Disaster Medicine specialist; Dr. Alex Bello, Internal Medicine specialist will provide us better opportunities of the next level to being an emergency doctor in different fields.

The Department of Emergency Medicine commits to pioneer innovative outreach via social media to increase public interest in health information with the goal of educating patients and their families. Tools will be shared with broader opportunities the medical practitioners can claim. Continuing to develop innovative initiatives with national partners is vital to saving more lives.

This postgraduate course motivates the public to register free, comply with effective media education and step up learnings about endemic. The webinar will be webcast and registration will be free via this web link.
