5 drug suspects, cohort yield P103K 'shabu' in Pampanga sting

Anti-narcotics authorities arrested on Thursday night, June 9, four drug suspects and their alleged cohort after they yielded P103,500 worth of crystal meth or "shabu" in a buy bust operation in Mabalacat, Pampanga, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported.

The suspects were identified by the PDEA as Elizabeth Buenavista, 42; Sunshine Paniza, 29; Sheila Idos, 29; Melissa Libre, 23; and Beneir Almeda, 34.
The suspects were collared along South Daang Bakal, Barangay Dau around 6:45 p.m. when they allegedly sold shabu to an undercover agent.
Around 15 grams of suspected shabu contained in five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets were confiscated from the suspects, the PDEA sais.
Authorities also said that they confiscated assorted drug paraphernalia and marked money from the drug suspects.
The five suspects face charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’
Operatives from the PDEA Central Luzon and local police carried out the operation.
