The University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) received a new scholarship fund for its indigent students from the campus' industry partners.

The five subsidiaries of Active Group of Companies (AGC), with its founder and chairman Arch. Antonio A. Turalba, Sr., donated more than P1.5 million to UPLB.
The scholarship named Turalba Scholarship Fund is to be allocated the for living allowances, books, and graduation funds of 75 students from the College of Engineering and Agro-industrial Technology (CEAT).
Around 40 percent of CEAT students are from low-income families as per the college dean, Dr. Rosanna Marie C. Amongo.
“This scholarship grant will be a precious addition to our existing efforts to expand our financial assistance program in the service of our dear students,” said Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr. at the memorandum of agreement signing on May 25 at the Office of the Chancellor.
He also noted that financial limitation is one of the reasons why students struggle with their studies.
The donation was coordinated by the CEAT Alumni Association led by its president Pantaleon Ll. Tabanao.
Turalba Scholarship Fund will be administered by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs through the Office of Scholarships and Grants (OSG).
Chairman Turalba thanked UPLB for the opportunity of providing aid to students and hoped for a long-term partnership with them.
