LPA continues to bring rains over Metro Manila, other western Luzon areas

The low pressure area (LPA) west of Luzon may continue to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila and other western Luzon areas in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday afternoon, June 1.
As of 3 p.m, PAGASA estimated the location of the LPA at 245 kilometers west-northwest of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over Metro Manila, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, northern Palawan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, and Central Luzon.
PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides triggered by moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also advised the public to remain vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusty winds, and sometimes hail.
Moreover, the entire archipelago will have light to moderate winds, while its coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
