Two men were arrested by the police for alleged gun ban violation and possession of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in Muntinlupa and Taguig on Tuesday, May 31.
In Bautista Compound, Barangay Alabang, the Muntinlupa police’s Alabang Sub-station arrested Jomari Pancipane, 25, a resident of the city.

The police were conducting anti-criminality operations when they saw Pancipane with a gun tucked in his waist.
They approached him and upon verification, he failed to show any documents for the gun, prompting the police to arrest him and confiscate his firearm.
The Commission on Elections imposed a gun ban from Jan. 9 up to June 8 in connection with the May 9 national and local elections.
Pancipane is now temporarily detained at the Muntinlupa police’s custodial facility for proper disposition.
“I call on our citizens to surrender to authorities the undocumented firearms under your care because it is prohibited under the law,” said Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg.
In Taguig, the police’s Sub-station 9 personnel also conducted an anti-criminality operation and arrested suspect Ali Bandila, 34, along Road 14, Maguindanao Street in Barangay New Lower Bicutan.
A citizen reported to the police about an illegal drug trade happening in the area. Police officers went to the area and saw Bandila in possession of suspected shabu weighing 49 grams with a value of P333,200 and one digital weighing scale.
He was arrested and the drugs were confiscated by the police. He is under the custody of the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit.
