De La Salle seeks to avenge its first-round loss against University of Santo Tomas when the two powerhouse teams clash on Thursday, June 2, in the UAAP Season 84 women's volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Match is set at 12:30 p.m. with both squads looking to break the deadlock at second place as they share identical 7-4 records through the second round of eliminations.
"Definitely babawi 'yong Lady Spikers against UST, so alam naman natin long match ‘yon, 'yong nangyari sa UST," said De La Salle assistant head coach Benson Bocboc.
In their first-round encounter, UST eked out a nail-biting 26-24, 22-25, 25-27, 25-23, 15-12 win over De La Salle as Eya Laure dropped 28 points built on 23 spikes, three service aces, and two blocks.
But the Tigresses saw their four-game win streak snap at the hands of the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20, which also marked the team's first sweep loss of the season while the Lady Spikers are fresh from 25-21, 25-23, 25-21 victory against the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons last May 31.
The Tigresses would badly need Laure, who's known for scoring more than twenty points per game, after being limited to 14 markers against Ateneo.
The presence of Imee Hernandez, Ysa Jimenez, Kecelyn Galdones, and Camille Victoria on the frontline as well as liberos Janel Delerio and Bernadette Pepito on floor defense is also essential for UST.
Over in Taft, Alleiah Malaluan is expected to spearhead De La Salle's balanced attack alongside Thea Gagate, Fifi Sharma, and Jolina Dela Cruz.
In other games, UP (4-6) hopes to boost its Final Four contention alive against the already ran Far Eastern University (1-9) in their 10 a.m. curtain-raiser, Adamson (6-4) looks to hand NU (10-0) its first loss and solidify its spot at No. 4 in their 4 p.m. match, while Ateneo (5-5) takes on UE (0-10) to cap off the quadruple-header at 6:30 p.m. in the hopes of moving up its ranking.
