57 wanted persons nabbed in Cordillera in weeklong police operation


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Fifty seven individuals wanted by the law were arrested during a week-long intensified manhunt operation conducted by the Police Regional Office-Cordillera from May 22 to May 28 in the region.

Based on records of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD), Baguio City Police Office PO had the highest number of arrests with 26 wanted personalities, followed by Kalinga PPO with 12, Benguet PPO with nine, Ifugao PPO five; Abra and Apayao PPO with two arrests each and Mountain Province with one arrest.

The series of manhunt operations was highlighted with the arrest of 11 individuals listed as Most Wanted Persons, of which, four are listed at the Provincial Level, two at the Municipal Level, one at the City Level and four at the Station Level.

At the Provincial Level, Julio Okao, Vicente Salibad, and Richard Diwayan, listed as No. 1, 2 and 3, respectively, were arrested for the crime of murder. All were arrested by police officers of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office.

Additionally, John Miranda, listed as No. 8, was arrested for the crime of homicide by personnel of Benguet PPO.

At the Municipal Level, Cesar Angoluan, listed as No. 1, was arrested by Ifugao PPO for violation of Presidential Decree 705 or the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines, while Adrian Dave Tagura, listed as No. 5, was arrested by Abra PPO for violation of Republic Act 8353 or the Anti-Rape Law of 1997.

At the City Level, Michaelangelo Impel, listed as No. 2, was arrested by Baguio CPO for the crime of rape and sexual abuse or RA 7610.

At the Station Level, Jacob Tan, listed as No. 6 was arrested for the crime of qualified theft through falsification of commercial documents; Armi Liguid, listed as No. 7; Marilyn Mateo and Mario Liguid, both listed as No. 8 for the crime of estafa. They were all arrested by the Baguio CPO.
