BUTUAN CITY – The regional office of the Department of Health (DOH Caraga Region 13) on Tuesday (May 31) reported 24 new cases of Covid-19 in Northeastern Mindanao or The Caraga region.
It noted that the figure was from May 22 to May 28, with 6 deaths also registered, the DOH 13 said in a statement sent to The Manila Bulletin.
The DOH-13 also said three cities in the Caraga region recorded zero Covid-19 infections during the past week.
In its weekly report Monday, DOH-13 said no Covid-19 cases were recorded in the cities of Surigao, Tandag, and Bislig in the same period.
No Covid-19 infections were also logged in the Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) and Surigao del Sur during the period.
In its new cases by province and city, the DOH 13 said Agusan del Norte registered 1 case (Buenavista), Agusan del Sur 4 (San Francisco 2, Prosperidad 1, La Paz 1), Bayugan City 1 (Poblacion), Cabadbaran City 3 (Tolosa 1, Poblacion 1, Del Pilar 1), Surigao del Norte 4 (Taganaan 1, Mainit 1, General Luna 1, Claver 1), and Butuan City with 11 new cases.
New cases by barangay in Butuan City : Villa Kananga-2, Libertad-2, San Vicente-1, San Ignacio -1, Maon -1, Doongan-1, Diego Silan-1, Basag-1, and Bancasi-1.
No severe or critical cases were reported in the 24 new Covid-19 cases logged last week in the Caraga region, the agency added.
However, with this new development, the regional office of DOH 13 reminded the public “not to be complacent about the threat of Covid-19.
“We must continue to properly adhere to the minimum public health standards under Alert Level 1),” the DOH-13 added.
