Remulla hoping for triple victory: 'Panalo ako, panalo BBM, panalo UP'
IMUS, Cavite - Reelectionist Governor Jonvic Remulla said he is hoping for a triple victory after casting his vote at Toclong Elementary School here on May 9.
"Kung ma-pusoy ko 'yan, panalo ako, panalo BBM, panalo UP (If the cards fall my way, I will win, Bongbong Marcos will win, University of the Philippines will win)," Remulla said with a laugh.
The governor is a backer of the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, who are up against the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP Season 84 men’s basketball Finals. UP took game one in the best-of-three series on May 8.
Remulla has a positive outlook on all three battles – including politics.
"It's not over till it's over, pero confident naman ako (but I'm confident)," Remulla said about his gubernatorial bid.
"If all our surveys are correct, he will get 65 percent here in Cavite," the governor said about presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos' chances of winning in the vote-rich province.
Peaceful election season in Cavite
Remulla said he is glad that the campaign season in Cavite has been generally peaceful.
"I'm very proud that in the 45 days, no acts of violence at all dito sa Cavite. So it's the most peaceful elections in the last 50 years dito sa main (here in our place). Walang casualty, walang reports of confrontations, walang harassment (No casualty, no reports of confrontations, no harassment), everything worked out very well," Remulla said.
When asked by the Manila Bulletin whether an indiscriminate firing incident in Barangay 45-A, Cavite City on May 7 was election-related, the governor commented "didn't look like it."
