Poll chief observes official start of voting

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan personally observed the opening of voting in Pasay City on Monday, May 9.

The poll chief went to the Andres Bonifacio Elementary School in Pasay City at 6 a.m. in time for the start of voting there.

In an interview, he said, the opening went smoothly.

"Everything went smoothly, so far six have cast their votes already, no hassle," said Pangarungan.

"I think nationwide they already started the voting, I was informed by our Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco," he added.

Voting period for the May 9 polls is from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
