Navotas precinct records zero election-related incident

Zero election-related incidents were recorded as 23,000 residents trooped to the Dagat-Dagatan Elementary School in Navotas City to cast their votes on Monday, May 9, according to school principal Dr. Sonia Padernal.

According to some voters, the voting process was easy despite the issues with the vote counting machines (VCM).

Mary Ann Ivardolaza, 45, a voter, said she encountered no major issues.

Meanwhile, Jenelyn Rose Diaz, 28, a first time voter, said she finished voting two hours after the polling station opened at 6 a.m.

She also encouraged residents to vote for the country's next leaders.

Master Sgt. Alano Javier Quisto of the Navotas City Police Station told the Manila Bulletin that since the start of the elections, they recorded zero election-related incidents such as the distribution of sample ballots or flyers.

He added that the malfunctioning VCMs were immediately replaced.

Padernal said that the canvassing of votes will be held at the Navotas City Hall.

Running for the city's mayoral posts are incumbent Rep. John Rey Tiangco and RC Cruz.
