'Meron pa rin himala': Robredo camp trusts 'gut feel' on election win
The morale of the campaign team of Vice President Leni Robredo is at an all-time high, her election lawyer said on Monday, May 9, because of his “gut feel” and amid numerous #SwitchToLeni reports on social media.

Lawyer Romulo Macalintal shared that the campaign team offered a one-minute prayer at 7 p.m. on Monday “for the success of our mission and we pray for a clean, honest, and successful political exercise and we look forward na (already) for the victory of Vice President Leni Robredo.”
“Napakataas ng morale namin...Sinasabi ko nga lagi, manalo man kami or magwagi, tuloy-tuloy ang pagbubunyi (Our morale is very high. As I said, whether we win or win, our celebration will continue),” he told the media.
But asked where his high morale is coming from, Macalintal said it was just his “gut feel” since he has been an election lawyer for more than 30 years.
“Wala lang. Gut feel lang na ako naman matagal na rin ako election lawyer kaya may pakiramdam ako (Nothing. It’s just gut feel, I’ve been an election lawyer for a long time so I can sense things),” he said.
“Ang pakiramdam ko eh di naman tayo papabayaan ng Poong Maykapal. Meron pa rin himala (My feeling is God will not forsake us. There is still a miracle),” Macalintal added.
On Twitter, the hashtag #SwitchToLeni has been trending since this morning. Voters posted about family members and friends switching to Robredo at the last minute before casting their votes.

“My dad finally made the #SwitchToLeni. Our whole family is pink I am so happy,” Marvin Olaes (@marvinolaes) tweeted.
“Just voted and made last minute decision to #SwitchToLeni and I am so damn proud of myself,” Felisa (@felisamay) added.
Twitter user Alfie Calingacion (@alfcalingacion) said that his cousin, who was a supporter of former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr., decided at the last minute to vote for Robredo because “my conscience tells me to shade Leni.”
Not all who switched to the Vice President were supporters of Marcos. Others were supporters of presidential contenders Senator Panfilo Lacson and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno but decided to vote for Robredo because they didn’t want Marcos to win.
This was because of Moreno’s and Lacson’s poor showing in pre-election surveys.
“My dad who is a Ping Lacson supporter has already #SwitchToLeni he said he will vote for Leni because he doesn’t want the Marcoses to be back in power,” Mark (@mmarkkvc) said.
“Successfully made my parents #SwitchToLeni at the very last minute,” Aloetry (@_aloetry) wrote and posted a photo of him with his parents flashing a finger-heart sign.
Many Twitter users posted screenshots of conversations with friends and family members, while others shared photos of their parents holding an “L” sign or flashing Robredo’s Korean finger-heart sign.
Macalintal made the statement before the transmission of votes for the president and vice president to transparency servers begins tonight.
