'I'm at peace:' Lacson relieved after campaign, says it's his last run

IMUS CITY, Cavite - Senator Panfilo Lacson said he is relieved now that his presidential campaign is over.

The senator answered questions from the media as he cast his vote in Bayan Luma I Elementary School, early morning on May 9.

"I'm at peace. Dalawa lang pwede puntahan eh, pwedeng pumunta ka nang Malacañang o umuwi ka ng bahay. 'Pag umuwi ka nang bahay, eh di masaya buhay mo, tahimik ang buhay (It can only be one of two things, you either go to Malacanang or you go home. If you go home, your life is happy and quiet)," Lacson said.

"I'm more relieved than anything else, dahil natapos 'yung 90 days (because the 90 days have ended). Thank God walang injury, walang illness (there's no injury, no illness) that befell us, not only us, but the other candidates as well," the presidential aspirant added.

When asked if he would be open to the possibility of taking a cabinet position if he does not win as president, Lacson said he is inclined not to accept any offer. But he said one thing is for sure - his recent campaign will be his last.

"Honestly, I'm not open to it . Pero 'yan yung sabihin nating mahirap magsalita nang patapos. Pero yung last run? 'Yun, salita nang patapos 'yun. 'Yung nakaraan, 'yun ang last campaign ko na (It is hard to say anything with finality with regard to a cabinet position. But as for my last run? That is my final word. This will be my last campaign)," Lacson said.
