
The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported 1,124 new cases of Covid-19.
It noted that the figure was from May 2 to 8. "Sa mga bagong kaso, 14 sa mga ito ang may malubha at kritikal na karamdaman. “Mayroong 611 na malubha at kritikal na pasyenteng naka-admit sa ating mga ospital dahil sa Covid-19. Sa 2,817 ICU beds para sa mga pasyenteng may Covid-19, 474 (16.8 percent) ang okupado. Samantala, 15.4 percent ng 23,818 non-ICU Covid-19 beds naman ang kasalukuyan ding ginagamit (There are 611 critical patients admitted to the hospitals due to Covid-19. Of the 2,817 ICU beds dedicated for Covid-19 patients, 474 were occupied. Meanwhile, 15.4 percent of the 23,818 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are also currently in use),” it added.
The average number of new cases per day is at 161, the DOH said.
“Pinapaalalalahan ang lahat na huwag maging kampante sa banta ng COVID-19. Bagkus, dapat natin ipagpatuloy ang tamang pagsunod sa minimum public health standards sa ilalim ng Alert Level 1. (The public is reminded not to be complacent about the threat of Covid-19. We must continue to properly adhere to the minimum public health standards under Alert Level 1),” the DOH said.
Meanwhile, 68 million Filipinos were already fully vaccinated against Covid-19. This was 76.04 percent of the government’s target population. Around 13.4 million individuals also received their booster shots.
