The votes cast overseas have reached 32.37 percent as of 10 a.m. of Monday, May 9, Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Marlon S. Casquejo bared.

As today is the last day for overseas voters to cast their votes, Casquejo said the poll body is eyeing a higher voting turnout.
“We are expecting a much higher voting turnout kasi may mga ibang mailed ballot pa na hindi pa naibilang, at continuing pa po ang ating in-person voting (because there are still mailed vallots that are not yet canvassed, and the in-person voting is still ongoing),” the poll commissioner said during a press briefing.
“So we are expecting a higher voting turnout, hopefully, umabot tayo ng (it reaches) 40 percent voting turnout in our overseas voting,” he added.
The overseas voting is from April 10 until Election Day, May 9, per Comelec.
Overseas voters may only vote for the positions of president, vice-president, senator, and party-list group.
