The Commission on Elections vowed on Monday, May 9, that the elections will push through no matter what problems will be encountered during the conduct of the elections.

In a press briefing, Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex C. Laudingco said that the poll body has plans a, b, and c as well as contingency plans for any problems that may emerge during the voting process.

"So yun po ang pangako namin sa aming mga kababayan tuloy ang botohan, anuman po ang magkaroon ng issue (That's our promise to the public, voting will continue whatever the issues), Comelec will address it," he added.

Meanwhile, it was reported that power in Bukidnon has been on and off. Laudingco stated that the Department of Energy (DOE) has committed to solve any power-related issues by first diverting energy resources, which he mentioned is Comelec's plan a.

Comelec's plan b is batteries, while plan C is generators, he mentioned.

"So wala po tayong pangamba pagdating sa sektor ng enerhiya. Ginagarintiya po namin na matutuloy ang election (We have nothing to worry about the energy sector. We guarantee that the elections will push through)," he added.

But in case everything else fails when it comes to energy, he said that "same standard contingency measures" will be applied. He explained that voting will not stop since it can still continue through the ballot which will be batch-fed to be monitored by watchers and the accredited citizen's arm.
