Cayetano vs Cerafica in Taguig election today

Who will emerge victorious in the local election in Taguig today, May 9?

According to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), there are 449,359 registered voters in Taguig, who will troop to polling centers to choose their president, vice president, senators, congressmen, mayor, vice mayor, councilors and party list.

At the center of the local election in Taguig are Team Lani Cayetano and Team AMC led by Arnel Cerafica.

Taguig 2nd District Rep. Lani Cayetano of the Nacionalista Party is running for Taguig mayor against Cerafica of the Partido Pilipino sa Pagbabago (PPP), who served as Taguig-Pateros congressman for three terms from 2010 to 2019.

Cayetano is the sister-in-law of incumbent Mayor Lino Cayetano, who opted not to seek a second term and gave way to her candidacy.

Running for vice mayor are Arvin Alit, Cayetano’s running mate, and Janelle Cerafica of PPP and wife of Arnel.

For congressman of the First District of Taguig-Pateros, the candidates are Allan Cerafica of PPP and Ading Cruz of NP.

For the representative of the Second District of Taguig, the candidates are Che Che Gonzales of PPP and Pammy Zamora of NP.

The Ceraficas and Team AMC are allied with UniTeam of presidential bet Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte. Team AMC met Marcos and Duterte during UniTeam’s rally in Taguig last April 24.
