The minimum daily wage of Filipino workers will be increased and standardized across the country if Senator Emmanuel 'Manny' Pacquiao becomes president.
Pacquiao said Friday he sees nothing wrong with increasing the standard wage to P750 daily.
"Salary standardization. Lahat na, kung anong salary sa Metro Manila, ganon din dito sa probinsya (The minimum salary in Metro Manila will be the same in the province)," the lawmaker said during his Commission on Elections-Kapisananan ng mga Broadkaster ng Pilipinas (Comelec-KBP) panel interview.
"Para di na mangarap ang mga tiga probinsya na pumunta sa Maynila," he added, as daily wage in Metro Manila is higher than in the province.
Pacquiao also said that his plans will also solve the violence in Mindanao, which is caused by rebellion brought by poverty.
Once developed, Mindanao will attain peace, Pacquiao, a Mindanaoan lawmaker, asserted.
To avoid objection from employers, Pacquiao said he will offer them incentives, particularly those that are micro, small and medium enterprises.
These include giving them tax immunity for at least three to five years since they start their business.
"We will help the MSMEs to survive," he added in Filipino.
