Lacson pleads with voters: Elect the right candidates on May 9

Independent presidential candidate Senator Panfilo M. Lacson today (May 6) asked voters to join him in a ‘’silent revolution’’ using not guns but pens in electing into office good men because electing thieves would put the future of our children and their grandchildren at stake.

Vice presidential candidate Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III said he and Lacson are qualified to man the Republic based on their integrity, competence and experience. Both have a total of 83 years in government service.

In a ‘miting de avance’ in Carmona, Cavite tonight before the May 9 national and local elections, Lacson asked the thousands of people who attended the rally to vote for him, Sotto and their senatorial candidates- former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Guillermo Eleazar; Dr. Minguita Padilla; former Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Pinol; and former Senators Gregorio Honasan and J. V. Ejercito.

Pleading with the voters, Lacson said right persons should be the ones elected into office.

If not, the lives of our children and their children are at stake, he pointed out..

‘’Kapag tayo po ay nagkamali at ang ating naiboto ay isang magnanakaw, six taon tayong pagnanakawan. Kapag tayo ay nagkamali at ang ating ibinoto ay manloloko (If we commit a mistake and we vote into office a thief, we will be victims of that thief for six years),’’ the said.

‘’Huwag natin payagan na ang ating kabataan ang susunod na henerasyon ay mawalan ng pag-asa sa ating bayan (Let us not allow our children and the next generation to lose hope in our country,’’ he added.

Sotto asked Filipino electorates for their trust in them to develop the country hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, corruption and poverty.

He said the Lacson-Sotto tandem has the solutions to the ills hitting the country.

Sotto stressed that the Philippine has the capability to manufacture pandemic-related medical supplies but it chose to import at a cost of billions of pesos.

He also said that the tandem would focus on developing the neglected agriculture sector by buying 50 percent of its produce at a right price; institute internal cleansing to curb corruption; digitalization of government operations; budget reform and pouring government money to the poor.
