De La Salle players seen dancing to BBM-Sara campaign jingle

Several De La Salle basketball players were allegedly seen dancing to the tune of "Bagong Pilipinas," a campaign jingle of rapper Andrew E. for former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

The likes of Jonel Policarpio, Justine Baltazar, Mark Nonoy, CJ Austria, and Emman Galman were seen in a now-deleted video posted by Policarpio on his Tiktok account.

Though the clip was already deleted, several Twitter users took screenshots of Policarpio's caption which allegedly expresses support to the BBM-Duterte duo for the presidential and vice presidential bid.

Others find the video as a parody of some sort or created for "clout" only.

Twitter user @PBABubbleStory also took receipt of the video and posted it on social media, which already reached at least 550 likes and 2.1k quote tweets as of this writing.

Earlier in the season, both Ateneo and De La Salle community, through the initiative of respective presidents Fr. Bobby Yap S.J. and Bro. Bernard “Bernie” Oca FSC had encouraged alumni and students alike to wear pink in games in support of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Since then, games involving the Blue Eagles and the Green Archers were flooded with a sea of pink before other schools such as University of Santo Tomas and University of the Philippines joined in the fray for their vocal support of Robredo.

Before the start of the volleyball tournament, Lady Tamaraws Lycha Ebon, Ash Cañete, Niks Medina, Shiela Kiseo, Jean Asis, Chen Tagao have also shown support for the candidacies of Marcos Jr. and Duterte through a series of photos that circulated online.

The players were seen wearing BBM-Sara shirts while doing the trademark "peace" sign of Marcos Jr.

Far Eastern University released an official statement following the viral post and said the university "has been traditionally apolitical."

The FEU Central Student Organization, for its part, made its own stand and stressed that "education has always been political."

"Ipanalo natin ito para sa lahat," the student body wrote in its post, alluding to the tagline used by Robredo and vice presidential tandem Kiko Pangilinan.
